# Could not resolve all files for configuration

> Getting the error “Could not resolve all files for configuration”? Here is how to fix it. The “Could not find” line names the library Gradle missed.

**Could not resolve all files for configuration.** A library the app needs wasn’t found in the configured repositories — a wrong version, a missing repository, or a network blip on the runner.

- Android build. Gradle couldn’t download a dependency.

## What this error means

A library the app needs wasn’t found in the configured repositories — a wrong version, a missing repository, or a network blip on the runner.

## Why it happens

Gradle could not download a library named on the “Could not find” line. The version does not exist, a repository is missing, or the runner could not reach it.

## The message tools print

```
Could not resolve all files for configuration ':app:releaseRuntimeClasspath'.
   > Could not find com.google.firebase:firebase-messaging:.
```

## How to fix it

1. Read the “Could not find” line: it names the library and version.
2. Check that your plugin versions match your Capacitor major.
3. Re-run the job if it was a network hiccup.

## Check a log that shows this

Paste the failing step into the [build error explainer](https://capwr.app/free-tools/build-error-explainer). It matches this message, and any others in the same log, in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
