How it works
The checker calls GitHub’s public API from your browser: the repo details, the file list at the root, then package.json, capacitor.config.* and vite.config.* when they exist. That is three to six requests, and nothing goes through CapWrapp’s servers.
Paste any of these:
https://github.com/acme/harborgithub.com/acme/harbor/tree/mainacme/harbor
Every result has its own link, so you can send it to a teammate or a freelancer.
What it checks
- A web app at the root. A
package.jsonwith a build script — Vite, Create React App, or a static export. - A static build, not a server. Next.js, Nuxt, Remix and TanStack Start need a static export before Capacitor can load them.
- Capacitor. Present, or missing but easy to add — plus matching versions, the appId and the build folder when
capacitor.configis at the root. - Native folders.
ios/andandroid/mean someone already rannpx cap add.
It does not clone the repo, install packages or run the build, so a pass is a strong signal, not a build guarantee.
Errors you might see
- Missing or private — GitHub answers “not found” for private repos when you are not logged in. Connect GitHub in CapWrapp for private repos.
- Rate limit — GitHub allows about 60 anonymous API requests per hour per network. Wait, or connect the repo in CapWrapp.
- No package.json — the repo root is not a JavaScript web app. Monorepos with the app in a subfolder are not covered yet.
