What this error means

Each upload for a version needs a new, higher build number (CFBundleVersion). App Store Connect already has one with this number.

Why it happens

App Store Connect stores one binary per build number inside a version. Uploading the same CFBundleVersion again is treated as a duplicate.

The message tools print

ERROR ITMS-90189: "Redundant Binary Upload. You've already uploaded a build with build number '12' for version number '1.2.0'. Make sure you increment the build string before you upload your app to App Store Connect."

How to fix it

  1. Raise the build number — for example the latest TestFlight build number plus one — and upload again.
  2. Automate it: fastlane’s latest_testflight_build_number with increment_build_number. CapWrapp bumps it on every ship.

Check a log that shows this

Paste the failing step into the build error explainer. It matches this message, and any others in the same log, in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Send the next upload without this rejection

CapWrapp uploads to App Store Connect from GitHub Actions and bumps the build number on every ship. When an upload fails, History can explain it from the full log.
