What this error means

The 1024 × 1024 App Store icon must be fully opaque. A PNG with an alpha channel is refused, even if it looks solid.

Why it happens

The 1024 × 1024 marketing icon is checked on upload. Any alpha channel, even on a pixel that looks solid, fails that check.

The message tools print

ERROR ITMS-90717: "Invalid large app icon. The large app icon in the asset catalog in "App.app" can't be transparent or contain an alpha channel."

How to fix it

  1. Export the icon again as a PNG without alpha, flattened on a background colour.
  2. Replace AppIcon in ios/App/App/Assets.xcassets and rebuild.

The app icon generator writes the 1024 icon as a PNG without an alpha channel, along with every Android size.

Check a log that shows this

Paste the failing step into the build error explainer. It matches this message, and any others in the same log, in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
