What this error means

Apple requires a privacy manifest (PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy) declaring why the app uses certain APIs, such as UserDefaults or file timestamps. Capacitor and many plugins use them.

Why it happens

Apple’s required-reason APIs, such as UserDefaults and file timestamps, must be declared in a privacy manifest. Capacitor and plugins call them, and an outdated SDK has no declaration.

The message tools print

ITMS-91053: Missing API declaration - Your app's code in the "App" file references one or more APIs that require reasons, including the following API categories: NSPrivacyAccessedAPICategoryUserDefaults.

How to fix it

  1. Add ios/App/App/PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy to the Xcode project and declare each API category from the email with an approved reason.
  2. Update Capacitor and your plugins: recent versions ship their own manifests.
  3. Rebuild and upload.

Check a log that shows this

Paste the failing step into the build error explainer. It matches this message, and any others in the same log, in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
